Hi! I’m Rozalie Petit-Frere, L.Ac.

Health and medicine have been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. An illness in my family proved early that how we manage sickness informs our health, and that sometimes the care is worse than the disease.

My journey to becoming a Traditional Chinese Medicine physician wasn’t linear, but no path is. For ten years I struggled with the feeling that I needed to change, until I committed myself to the passion I always had - helping people. I resigned from my IT job and threw myself whole-heartedly into the mastery of traditional medicine.

I graduated from the master’s program at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, with a secondary degree in health science. Since then I’ve vigorously pursued deeper knowledge in the field. I believe that we never stop learning, and personal development is how we create a rich life. Since graduating, I’ve explored many different styles of acupuncture, cupping, and herbal medicine in order to best serve the South Florida community.

At Miami Acupuncture and Herbal Solutions, I endeavor to continue that service, with a commitment to growth in my role as a healer. I have a specific interest in the treatment of pain, depression, anxiety, and other imbalances. I ensure that each patient leaves with a custom plan to achieve wellness, feeling heard and supported.

My Approach

I believe that wellness is not defined as the absence of illness, but the promotion of health. The difference is that one is passive, and the other is active. To be healthy, we must live health-fully.

The wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches that we can achieve lasting well-being through looking at the world differently. Rather than separating systems and experiences, we must understand that the human condition is the combination of many things that all connect together. What we eat, our preferred activities, how we engage with the environment and with others - it all becomes a part of our health.

My treatment philosophy is to treat what I see, and rely on the patient’s experience. Traditional Chinese Medicine is collaborative, and for all my expertise only the patient really understands what they’re going through. Together, we craft a plan that extends past the clinic, to transform lives and make health an activity.
